Free market = Consumerism, not!

Years of credit bubble-ignited consumer excesses in America have produced one aftermath that is markedly tragic—the professional child consumer. Children learn, from a very early age, that life is enabled by money because it is money that buys them all the stuff they want to own. Kids have become professional consumers. They covet so they buy, courtesy of parents who are financial slaves to their children’s infantile impulses.

Materialism/consumerism fills a deep longing in people... products and their essence fill empty spaces in people's soul with "meaning"... ok... but material things are corruptible and decay... and if you fill yourself with these things you decay and become corrupt... Poor child....
Here is another thing...
Here is another thing... people give gifts to show esteem and affection... the esteem and affection are good but the material stuff is not wanted...
Happiness is not material...
