Fed up with cell phones?
Here is an interesting story:
- Mie Univ. associate professor arrested for breaking mobile phone
TSU, Japan - An associate professor at Mie University was arrested Tuesday for breaking the mobile phone of a woman at a bar in Tsu, Mie Prefecture, the police said. I threw a high school
I threw a high school student's phone out of a first-story window. I had warned her I'd do it, the phone didn't break (it hit the grass) and even she seemed to take it in stride.
I had to give her credit for comic timing. After I tossed it out the window, she looked at me shocked for a few seconds, then asked, in earnest, "Can I go get it?"
I couldn't help but laugh. Luckily, one of her classmates took the pressure of asking the obvious question off of me by asking her, "What? Are you fucking retarded?"
You know, as wrong as it is
You know, as wrong as it is to destroy someone else's property, and while I don't in any way condone what this Professor did, I understand.
Having taught myself in the past, I also got annoyed when someone would start talking on their cell phone in the middle of class. I would tell them to leave the room until they were done.
The problem here is that
The problem here is that neither the professor, the girl, nor the phone were in class at the time.
The un-asked question: What was an 18 year old doing in a bar?
