From the Japan Times:

Ask yourself this, how does learning this facilitate any given student's education? Not a bit. It's clear that the goal is not education ... Sadly this can be said for a lot of the stuff they teach in school. This just happens to be a particularly odious example. This is why education curriculum should be handled more locally.

I agree with you on your conclusion that "education curriculum should be handled more locally" but I don't think it is entirely useless to include the article about Takeshima in the school textbook;Students need to be made aware of the issues hotly debated around the world, in particular the issues related to Japan.

Ponta, It's nice to hear

Ponta,

It's nice to hear from you. Glad to see you have your own blog, but I hope you blog more of your own thoughts, as opposed to just reaction to Debito's blog.

"By the way, I am glad you’ve started blogging frequently."

Thank you for saying this, but I am still too preoccupied to be blogging much. So I'm just throwing stuff out there when I have a little extra time. I really, really enjoy blogging, but am trying to discipline myself not to, because I've got to many other things I have to work on at present. :-(

Thank you, Matt. Well my blog

Thank you, Matt. Well my blog is about my own thought and it is also about reaction to Debito's blog. And I write it because I think it is important. https://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=6030909470450917211&postID=3254...
I think it is also a matter of concern to NJ.

I think I should keep away from keyboard too, but I just can' resist it.
I hope you start blogging as frequently as before.
